Case Study: CRM Integration via MCP for Enterprise Chatbot

A mid-sized company wanted to connect their internal chatbot to customer data from their existing CRM system — without exposing sensitive data to external services in an uncontrolled manner.

Our solution: A two-tier chatbot architecture with MCP as the secure data layer. For customers, a Claude-based support chatbot provides deliberately limited CRM access — exclusively for cases customers can resolve themselves. Internally, employees use a self-hosted LLM with significantly broader data access for sales, support, and analysis. Both systems access the CRM through the same MCP server — with different permission profiles, granular access control, and a complete audit log.

Employees can ask natural language questions like “When was the last contact with company X?” or “Show me open quotes above €10,000” — and receive precise answers directly from the CRM.
